The Kalamalka Highlanders are a performance band located in Vernon, BC, Canada. The band is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to promoting Scottish and Celtic culture.
We are active in the North Okanagan community, performing at many of the local events including the Vernon Winter Carnaval, the IPE, Lumby Days, Fintry Manor House events, and many others.

No problem—we'll teach you everything you need to know. Our pipe band learning programme welcomes beginners and seasoned musicians alike, offering expert instruction in bagpipes and drums, mentorship from experienced players, and opportunities to perform at events across the region. Come learn, play, and grow with us. Your journey starts with one step (and maybe a brisk march!).

Whether you’ve been playing for years or are just getting started, we welcome musicians who want to perform with pride, develop their skills, and connect through music. We’re active in parades, festivals, and community events—including our much-loved visits to local retirement homes—and we’re always looking to grow our roster. Join us and experience the tradition, the camaraderie, and the joy of making music that moves people. Practices run from September to May, on Thursday evenings, between 6:30 and 8:30 pm.
